The pupils, staff and parents of Crossroads Primary School, Kilrea celebrated a very poignant beginning of year mass on Thursday 26th September. The mass was offered for the happy repose of the soul of Brian Calvert who sadly passed in June. Brian was a serving governor of the school, past parent and a shining light in the Kilrea community. The theme of the mass was ‘Care for Creation’ which was fitting as Brian had a great love of the outdoors and encouraged his family and all those he met to embrace opportunities to enjoy the world around them. Father John Cargan PP, celebrated the mass and paid tribute to Brian’s great qualities. He offered blessings on the whole school community as they embark on another year of fun and learning together.
