ICT
In Crossroad Primary we are passionate about ICT. We feel it is vitally important that our pupils are given quality experiences that will equip them with the ICT skills to flourish in a very dynamic and rapidly changing technological world.
ICT is embedded throughout the many areas of the curriculum. We have interactive whiteboards in each classroom and in our main hall which are used to access a plethora of purposeful computer programs and online resources. We also have a combination of laptop and desktop computers maintained and managed through the c2K network.
In addition to this we have recently purchased some iPads to enhance our ICT provision. The iPads are wonderful teaching tools that are used to enhance the quality of our lessons. Some of the apps which we are finding really useful at present are Adobe Spark, Tynker, Book Creator, Scratch Junior, Explain Everything, Seesaw to name only a few. In order to try and get the most out of our iPad resources we have also purchased Apple TV for each classroom and a Parrot Minidrone to support the teaching of Interactive Design. We are currently monitoring our ICT resources to ensure that our pupils have the best possible experiences.
Through our ICT teaching we plan to ensure that we are covering the 5E’s and 8 Desirable Features as set out as part of statutory assessment.
